Landmark Forum: Bringing Positive, Permanent Shifts to the Quality of Life

In January of 2012, typer John Smyth attended The Landmark Forum, a three-day program designed to bring about positive, permanent shifts in the quality of one’s life. The seminar was a real turning point for John in his development of communication skills with the outside world, as he described in An Amazing Autism Story:

In Landmark, I discovered that:
We isolate ourselves and don’t participate in the amazing oasis of peace that always comes from contributing. We really need powerful work in our lives to awesomely use ourselves for others. When we do that, we appear powerfully different to ourselves and others.

Rating the possibilities on a scale of one to ten, I am now a 90 AND CLIMBING. Really, life is totally transformed and I willfully engage at every level, and powerfully engage with myself to do that.

While not specifically intended for people with disabilities, participants can experience "a new and unique kind of freedom, effectiveness, and power—the freedom to be at ease in any circumstance, a new effectiveness in areas that really matter to you, and the power to make what you’re committed to into a reality."

Landmark Forum in a Nutshell

The Landmark programs focus on those areas of life that are most important to just about everyone:

  • The quality of your relationships, your personal productivity
  • The difference you’re out to make
  • The degree to which you enjoy your life

Landmark Forums for Young People, Teens, and Families

The Landmark Forum for Young People (ages 8–12) leaves young people empowered to be responsible for their lives, create new possibilities, deal effectively with others, and feel confident in their own choices.

The Landmark Forum For Teens explores the freedom to invent new possibilities, face challenges powerfully, and be fully self-expressed. During the three-day program, a Landmark Forum leader leads teens through a series of discussions geared toward issues that are important to them.

The Landmark Family Coaching Session helps you discover entirely new possibilities for who you are for your family and who your family is for you. The family coaching session provides an environment in which you can create the freedom to see each family member newly, communicate effectively, and see life from an expanded view—whether participating individually or with family and friends.

During the course of the program, participants experience benefits both practical and profound that will continue to expand and unfold over time.
